Mr. James O. McBride graduated from Plainview High School, Plainview, Texas in 1968 and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1973, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. He was commissioned from the Reserve Office Training Corps at SFASU in 1973 in the US Army Quartermaster Corps. Mr. McBride held a variety of assignments over the next 20 years until his retirement from active duty at the rank of Major in October 1993. His assignments included the Defense Investigative Service, Military Police Company Commander, Military Policy Brigade Logistics/Budget Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, and Petroleum Systems Officer. His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
After retiring he worked for Brown and Root Corporation on a LOGCAP contract assignment supporting our troops deployed to Somalia. When he returned to the United States, he went to work for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command as a Unit Pay Administrator in October 1994. He was promoted to Budget Analyst in 1996 and is now the senior Budget Analyst in the 377th TSC comptroller division. Mr. McBride has developed, managed, and executed budgets in support of numerous Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) exercises both in and out of the United States, and managed numerous budgets for his commandís involvement in the Global War on Terrorism.
Mr. McBride is a Certified Defense Financial Manager and a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers.
